We are Bailey and Joey. The owners, growers, beekeepers, and culinary experimenters for the Howe Homestead. We began our “Homestead” officially in March of 2021 when we purchased the 2.3 acre property. While that year was the first we spent physically growing vegetables and flowers, I think we could claim to have been gardeners even before that time.
We met in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Bailey is an architect and Joey was at the time perfecting his craft butchery skills and in his free time experimenting with all things culinary. In 2020 when the Covid pandemic began, the two room studio apartment we called home became a lot smaller, and we kept ourselves thinking positively by watching episode after episode of Gardener’s World on the BBC yearning for the day when we would be able to cultivate our own piece of paradise.
We made the decision to move to Indiana, to Bailey’s home state in 2021, and after finding the perfect parcel located off of Howe Rd in Noblesville, Indiana, we settled in and have not looked back since. Our “homestead” has only just begun, and we look forward to many years of growing, making, baking and concocting all while focusing on the sustainable, and environmentally conscious practices for our home and garden.
